Product Features

What DreamFace does?

DreamFace has many advanced features to help organizations in building their Web 2.0 Applications. As it can be seen and used in many ways, DreamFace's main features are described below from different angles:

1. It's a WebChannel Execution Environment

DreamFace Interactive's WebChannels deliver a customizable and personal user experience. They handle individual users' persona to manage the complex corporate security and access policies called for by enterprise applications as well as preference and personal options in the individual access to Web-hosted services and Web 2.0 community sites. User-defined parameters in individual WebChannels drive the execution of DreamFace Interactive's WebPrograms, seamlessly adapting reusable, shared components into a custom experience. With no coding required, business users are able to mix and adapt programs to their unique needs and requirements.

WebChannels furthermore enable information workers to easily select and order disparate types of information from different sources, both inside and outside the intranet; to aggregate presentations and interactions in a user-defined, cohesive whole. WebChannels also leverage standard information aggregators, like RSS readers, widgets, and popular mashups.

2. It's a Widget Platform

With its concept of DataWidget(tm), DreamFace provides a smart and powerful way to create personalizable widgets
DataWidgets display information retrieved either from DataSources or Providers. DataSources are descriptions of parameter-driven REST services that return XML data. Providers are sophisticated DataSources which connect to external resources using a dedicated API. Examples of providers include POP, RSS/Atom, SOAP, REST, JDBC, SaaS Platform APIs (SalesForce, Amazon, eBay, ...), Enterprise Web Services or any kind of resource accessible from an application programing interface.

3. It's a Personalization Engine

DreamFace drives personalization of components such as DataViews (widgets), Screens and WebPrograms, by handling user Personas. Execution of these components are thus adapted according to the user needs, rights and preferences.

4. It's an easy-to-use Screen Designer

DreamFace provides a WYSIWYG browser-based screen designer to create and configure screens using ultimate techniques such as Drag&Drop. The designer provides also a way to configure interactions between DataViews or to interact with the WebProgram (set variables, move to the next step...) in which the screen is used. No coding is required, tech-savvy personnel are enabled to create, design and share screens by themselves.

5. It's a Workflow Designer

With its concept of WebPrograms, DreamFace provides a way to graphically design the orchestration of screens as well as service calls. Business Rules and Variables are used to orchestrate the execution path according to the user's persona, interactions with the application or result of service calls.

6. It's a Web 2.0 Framework

DreamFace can be extended in many ways and provides abstract elements that let you:

  • Build your own DataWidget templates to extend the data visualization layer
  • Build your own providers and get connected with any kind of data source
  • Add your own feeds catalog to give users the most relevant information
  • Implement your own skin to fit your company's graphic guidelines
